Beirut: The Israeli army conducted airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut after issuing evacuation warnings for seven neighborhoods, as confirmed by an Anadolu correspondent. The strikes targeted areas associated with Hezbollah, as part of an ongoing Israeli military campaign against the group in Lebanon.

According to Anadolu Agency, an Israeli military spokesperson stated that the army's actions were directed at Hezbollah targets in response to recent hostilities. The confrontations have been escalating since March 2, when Hezbollah began attacking Israeli military sites. This was in retaliation to previous Israeli attacks on Lebanon and the death of then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran in late February.

The conflict intensified further on March 3, with Israel initiating a limited ground incursion into southern Lebanon. These actions are part of a larger regional escalation that began on February 28, when Israel and the United States launched a joint attack against Iran. This offensive has reportedly resulted in approximately 1,300 casualties. In retaliation, Tehran has deployed drone and missile strikes against Israel, as well as targeting Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
