Washington: Recent US attacks on Iran have highlighted a significant shift in President Donald Trump's stance, according to American journalist Tucker Carlson. Carlson, a former Fox News commentator and occasional supporter of Trump, expressed concerns over the deviation from Trump's previous promises.

According to Anadolu Agency, Carlson stated, "I think that this war is something that he promised he wouldn't do, not once but countless times." Carlson, who now shares his commentaries on the US social media platform X, argued that the decision contradicts the 'America first' ideology, potentially even reversing it. While acknowledging that a regime change in Iran could be advantageous for the US, Carlson criticized the justification of imminent threats from Iran as unfounded.

Carlson further noted the influence of Israel in the decision-making process, suggesting that Washington's actions were prompted by Israeli interests. "We put Israel's interests before ours," he stated, emphasizing that Trump was elected by US voters, not Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu. He compared Trump's situation to that of former President George W. Bush, who faced similar accusations regarding the Iraq War, which was initiated based on claims of weapons of mass destruction that were never found.
