Gaza: At least 48 Palestinians were killed in renewed Israeli airstrikes targeting the Gaza Strip, according to medics.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Health Ministry and Civil Defense in Gaza reported that 34 Palestinians were killed in a strike that hit the European Hospital and an adjacent house belonging to the al-Afghani family. The Israeli army admitted to targeting the hospital, claiming it was aiming at members of the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas.

In southern Gaza, a strike in western Khan Younis resulted in the death of a Palestinian man and his wife, as confirmed by a medical source. In the northern town of Beit Lahia, three family members died due to Israeli shelling of a tent sheltering displaced civilians.

The Shejaiya neighborhood in Gaza City was also bombed, resulting in three deaths, while a fourth individual succumbed to injuries sustained in an earlier strike in the same area. A drone strike in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza killed one civilian and injured two others, while another person was injured in a similar attack in the Bureij refugee camp.

A medical source reported that two individuals, including a journalist, were killed in an Israeli bombardment of the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. Additionally, Gaza's Interior Ministry announced the death of a police commander in an Israeli strike in the same city at dawn. Another Palestinian died in a separate strike in the western part of Khan Younis.

Witnesses noted that Israeli artillery shelled the Al-Tuffah and Shejaiya neighborhoods of eastern Gaza City amid intense gunfire from military vehicles. The army also continued its home demolitions in eastern Gaza City and Rafah in southern Gaza.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of more than 52,900 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023, with most victims being women and children. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice concerning its actions in the enclave.
