Hebron:The Israeli army continued its military operations in Hebron, located in the southern occupied West Bank, for the sixth consecutive day on Wednesday, conducting raids and enforcing strict measures on the city, as reported by local sources.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, Israeli forces persisted in raiding neighborhoods within Hebron and various towns across the governorate. These actions were part of ongoing military incursions.
The incursions included additional Israeli forces, supported by military vehicles, entering several towns within the governorate and the al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of the city, around midnight. The forces conducted searches of Palestinian homes during these raids.
Military restrictions have been tightened at the entrances to Hebron, with Anadolu cameras capturing footage of Israeli forces stopping Palestinians at checkpoints near the al-Jaladah roundabout in Hebron, where they were subjected to searches and harsh treatment.
The military operations began on Friday after an attack by two Palestinians resulted in the deaths of two Israeli soldiers and injuries to three others. The Israeli army subsequently killed the two Palestinians involved in the attack.
In a statement released on Tuesday evening, the Hebron Municipality reported that the number of displaced Palestinians in the city had increased to 4,969, encompassing 780 families, due to the ongoing military offensive.
The Palestinian Prisoner Society, a non-governmental organization, stated that between Friday and Monday, 85 Palestinians were arrested by the Israeli army in the Hebron governorate. These incidents are part of a broader pattern of escalating Israeli military attacks and violence against Palestinians throughout the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since the outbreak of Israel's war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023.
