Ankara:According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army reported killing a man in southern Syria on Monday after he allegedly attempted to enter a military post within a designated 'security area.' The incident resulted in no injuries to Israeli soldiers, as stated by the army, which also affirmed its intent to continue operations in the region to protect Israeli civilians and troops.
On Sunday, Alikhbaria TV in Syria reported that Israeli forces detained a young man outside his home in Al-Hamidiyah, northern Quneitra province, during raids and searches of several homes in the town. Additionally, Israeli forces reportedly entered the village of Maariya in Daraa province with over 15 military vehicles and conducted house raids.
The television channel further claimed that Israeli forces fired two artillery shells at the outskirts of Al-Mantara Dam in central Quneitra. Syria has accused Israel of ongoing violations since the Assad regime's fall in late 2024. Last month, Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa addressed the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, alleging that Israel has executed approximately 500 airstrikes and artillery attacks, over 1,200 incursions, and around 300 arrests and detentions since late 2024.
