Israeli Army Resumes Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon Amid US Deal

Kfar Tebnit:Israeli forces have renewed airstrikes and artillery shelling across several towns in southern Lebanon, marking further violations of a US-sponsored framework agreement signed in June.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli warplanes conducted bombing raids on the town of Kfar Tebnit in the Nabatieh district. Additionally, the town of Mansouri in the Tyre district was targeted by airstrikes, while artillery shelling struck Majdal Zoun.

Overnight, the region between Mayfadoun and Zawtar al-Sharqiyah experienced heavy Israeli artillery shelling. These attacks are part of Israel's ongoing offensive that began on March 2, which has resulted in 4,386 fatalities and 12,413 injuries, as reported by Lebanon's Health Ministry.

The US-brokered framework agreement, signed on June 26 in Washington, was intended to facilitate a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and the deployment of the Lebanese army in vacated areas. However, the Israeli army has continued its military actions and maintains its occupation of various parts of Lebanon, including long-held areas and others captured in recent conflicts.
