Gaza: At least 68 Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, according to sources and witnesses. The Israeli army's actions in the northwestern Gaza Strip resulted in 51 deaths and 648 injuries near the Zikim area, where civilians were waiting for aid, as reported by the Gaza Media office.

According to Anadolu Agency, the statement from the Gaza Media office highlighted that 112 aid trucks entered Gaza, but most were looted due to security chaos attributed to Israeli occupation efforts. This has been described as a deliberate strategy to create chaos and undermine aid distribution, depriving civilians of essential assistance.

Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal emphasized the urgent needs in Gaza hospitals, citing their inability to handle the overwhelming number of injuries. Basal called for safe distribution of humanitarian aid and an end to the targeting of civilians. He also placed responsibility on the international community and human rights organizations for these incidents.

Further violence was reported as Israeli forces opened fire at a distribution point near the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza, resulting in five deaths and eight injuries. In northern Rafah, Israeli fire killed six and injured over 45 Palestinians waiting for aid. Medical sources have confirmed these incidents.

The Health Ministry's latest figures indicate that since May 27, at least 1,239 people have been killed and over 8,152 injured by Israeli army fire while seeking aid in Gaza. Additional casualties were reported from airstrikes across Gaza City and its neighborhoods.

The ongoing offensive by the Israeli army, which began on October 7, 2023, has led to over 60,000 Palestinian deaths, widespread devastation, and food shortages in the region. Israeli rights groups, including B'Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights - Israel, have accused Israel of genocide, citing the systematic destruction of Palestinian society and healthcare.

Previously, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
