Gaza: Israeli artillery fire targeted multiple areas across the Gaza Strip early Friday, despite an ongoing ceasefire agreement. Local sources informed Anadolu that the artillery strikes occurred in zones where the Israeli military maintains control and deployment.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli artillery targeted several locations east of Gaza City, within areas under Israeli military control. Additionally, separate areas north of the southern city of Rafah, which remain fully under Israeli control, were also hit.

The sources further reported that Israeli military vehicles fired randomly in the area east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Since the ceasefire came into effect, Israeli forces have reportedly killed 477 Palestinians and wounded 1,301 others in alleged violations of the agreement.

The ceasefire marked the end of a war that began in October 2023 and lasted approximately two years. This conflict resulted in the deaths of more than 71,000 Palestinians and injuries to over 171,000 others. The war caused significant destruction, with approximately 90% of Gaza's civilian infrastructure damaged or destroyed. The United Nations has estimated the cost of reconstruction at approximately $70 billion.
