Israeli Forces Conduct Operations in Southern Lebanon Amid Ceasefire

Mansouri:Southern Lebanon Israeli military forces have undertaken a series of aggressive actions in southern Lebanon, including the destruction of a school and shelling of towns, despite an existing ceasefire agreement.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army targeted various locations in the region on Saturday. In Houla, located in the Marjayoun district, Israeli forces reportedly planted explosives in a private school, leading to its complete destruction. Additionally, troops were accused of setting fire to homes in the vicinity.

The towns of Khiam, Tallouseh, and Bani Hayyan were subject to Israeli artillery shelling, with warplanes conducting two strikes on Bani Hayyan. In the Nabatieh district, Kfar Tibnit experienced two waves of airstrikes, while the outskirts of Mayfadoun and Zawtar al-Sharqiyah were heavily shelled.

Large detonations were reported in Aitaroun and Tallouseh, and in the Tyre district, Israeli artillery targeted Mansouri and Majdal Zoun. Earlier in the day, significant explosions in Mansouri produced white smoke over residential areas, causing tremors and loud blasts that were noticeable in Tyre and nearby villages. The report highlighted that most of the public school in Mansouri had already been destroyed by Israeli forces, leaving only a small section intact.

Despite the June 26 US-sponsored Framework Agreement, which outlined a phased Israeli withdrawal and the deployment of Lebanese forces, Israel continues to conduct military operations and maintains a presence in parts of southern Lebanon, including territories long occupied and recently seized.
