Quneitra: The Israeli army conducted a raid on a Syrian town in the southern Quneitra countryside early Monday, marking a recent breach of the country's sovereignty. The operation involved three Israeli vehicles patrolling the western parts of the village of Saida al-Hanout, accompanied by an Israeli drone conducting surveillance.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli forces further escalated their presence by transferring two tanks from the Al-Burj point in Quneitra city to al-Hamidiyah in the north. In a preceding operation on Sunday, Israeli troops established two military checkpoints in both the northern and southern regions of the countryside.

The Israeli army and Syrian authorities have yet to provide any statements regarding these media reports. Government data reveals that Israel has executed over 1,000 airstrikes on Syria and more than 400 cross-border raids into the southern provinces since December 2024.

Following the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel extended its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights by taking control of the demilitarized buffer zone, contravening a 1974 agreement with Syria.
