Quneitra:Israeli forces entered a village in southern Syria late Monday, conducting a raid on a home as illumination flares lit up the area, as reported by Syrian state media. The incursion took place in Taranja village, located in the northern countryside of Quneitra province.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, the Israeli military operation is part of a series of repeated actions in the region. Recently, on Saturday, Israeli troops detained two Syrians near the same village while they worked in olive groves, releasing them the following day.
Syria's Foreign Ministry has condemned the escalating Israeli incursions, describing them as a 'flagrant violation' of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The ministry highlighted that these actions threaten security and stability, while also hindering reconstruction and recovery efforts. It has called on the international community to intervene and urge Israel to adhere to international law and relevant UN resolutions.
The pattern of incursions by Israeli forces into southern Syria has been ongoing since the fall of Bashar al-Assad in December 2024, when Israel declared the 1974 disengagement agreement void and took control of the Syrian buffer zone.
