Quneitra: The Israeli army carried out a new cross-border raid into Syria's southwestern Quneitra province on Thursday, marking the latest in a series of violations of Syria's sovereignty, local media reported. Syria's state-run Alikhbaria TV noted that tanks and bulldozers advanced into Muallaqa village in the southern Quneitra countryside. Further details regarding the incursion remain unreported by the broadcaster.

According to Anadolu Agency, there was no official comment from either the Israeli army or Syrian authorities regarding the raid. However, Damascus has consistently called for an end to these Israeli violations. The frequency of Israeli incursions into southern Syria has increased in recent weeks, often involving arrests and the setup of temporary checkpoints, which has fueled public discontent.

On Wednesday, Israeli forces fired artillery shells from positions in the western Tel al-Ahmar area towards eastern Tel al-Ahmar, near Kwdana village in southern Quneitra. Despite the Syrian government's lack of threat, Israeli forces have consistently entered Syrian territory, conducting airstrikes that have resulted in civilian casualties and the destruction of Syrian military infrastructure.

Syrian government data indicates that since December 2024, Israel has executed over 1,000 airstrikes on Syria and more than 400 cross-border raids into the southern provinces. Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, Israel expanded its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights by seizing the demilitarized buffer zone, a move that contravened a 1974 agreement with Syria.
