Ankara:According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has urged the Israeli army to 'go to war' in the occupied West Bank. He suggested that the military should implement tactics similar to those used in Gaza, where significant casualties have occurred since October 2023, with nearly 74,000 Palestinians killed and over 175,000 wounded.

Smotrich made these comments in an interview with Israeli news outlet Ynet, using the biblical name Judea and Samaria for the West Bank. He emphasized the need for the Israeli army to eliminate any terrorist infrastructure in the region, stating that there should be 'no terrorists, no weapons, and no tunnels.'

Furthermore, Smotrich advocated for the annexation of territories, proposing that Israel should extend its control to the Yellow Line in Gaza and up to the Litani River in southern Lebanon. He questioned the effectiveness of a war that ends without changing territorial lines, implying that such outcomes fail to prevent future conflicts.
