Ankara: Israeli occupiers and army forces intensified their operations across the occupied West Bank, with significant activities reported on Monday, including the establishment of a new illegal settlement outpost in Bethlehem and the development of settlement roads.
According to Anadolu Agency, local sources revealed that Israeli occupiers stormed the outskirts of Al-Mazraa Al-Sharqiya, east of Ramallah, leading to confrontations with Palestinian youths. The clash did not result in any immediate injuries. In Bethlehem, an illegal settlement outpost was set up on land belonging to Nahalin town. Additionally, bulldozers began constructing a new settlement road near Palestinian homes in Deir Ammar, west of Ramallah.
Videos on social media depicted the expansion of settlement activities, particularly on land north of Burqa village, east of Ramallah. Earlier in the day, Israeli army forces raided Al-Mughayyir village, while occupiers gathered on the Marj Sia road linking Al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah villages.
Alongside these activities, Israeli forces continued executing raids and imposing military restrictions throughout the West Bank. In Ramallah province, Shuqba town experienced a raid with tear gas deployment. Checkpoints were erected at village entrances, including Shabtin and Nabi Saleh, leading to traffic congestion and long vehicle lines.
In occupied East Jerusalem, a military checkpoint was set up at Jaba town's entrance, and vehicle searches were conducted. The army also raided Sair town, northeast of Hebron, while tours by Israeli occupiers occurred in Khirbet Samra in the northern Jordan Valley. The West Bank remains tense with ongoing attacks by Israeli occupiers and military operations since the Gaza conflict began on Oct. 8, 2023, along with the expansion of illegal settlements and intensified movement restrictions on Palestinians.
