BEIRUT: Israeli violations of the cease-fire agreement with Lebanon have been documented since its inception early on Wednesday, as reported by Lebanese authorities. A total of 18 violations have been recorded, with 13 occurring on Wednesday alone. According to Anadolu Agency, the violations were compiled through announcements from the Israeli army and various news sources, including Lebanon's National News Agency. Among the incidents reported on Wednesday was an Israeli drone strike in the town of Markaba, Marjayoun district, which targeted a car and resulted in injuries to two people. The Israeli Army Radio claimed the car was in a "prohibited area." Additionally, Israeli warplanes attacked a site in southern Lebanon, alleged by the army to be a Hezbollah location containing rockets. Further violations included Israeli tank fire on the towns of Kafr Shuba and Al-Wazzani in the Hasbaiyya district and artillery shelling in several areas including Taybeh, Khiam, and the Marjayoun plain. Israeli drones were a lso reported over towns in the Tyre district and Bint Jbeil in the Nabatieh governorate. Artillery shelling was noted in the towns of Aita al-Shaab and the city of Bint Jbeil. Thursday saw additional incidents, with reports of the Israeli army firing at journalists in the town of Khiam, injuring two as they covered the return of residents and the Israeli withdrawal. Shelling was reported near the Fatima Gate in Kafr Kila, and the Israeli army arrested four individuals in southern Lebanon, claiming they approached Israeli forces and were affiliated with Hezbollah. The cease-fire agreement stipulates that Israel withdraws its forces south of the Blue Line de facto border in a phased manner, while the Lebanese army is to deploy its forces in southern Lebanon within 60 days. Oversight of the agreement is to be managed by the US and France, although specific enforcement mechanisms remain undefined. Lebanese health authorities report that since October last year, over 3,960 individuals have been killed, more tha n 16,500 injured, and over 1 million displaced due to Israeli attacks in Lebanon. *Writing by Rania Abu Shamala*
