Trkiye’s Foreign Trade Deficit Narrows to $65.8 Billion in First Ten Months.

Ankara: Trkiye's foreign trade deficit continued to narrow in October, reaching $65.8 billion for the first 10 months of the year, a decrease of 30.1% compared to the same period last year, as reported by Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) data. According to Anadolu Agency, Trkiye's exports amounted to $216.2 billion from January to October, while imports were recorded at $282 billion. In October alone, the country exported goods worth $23.5 billion, while imports stood at $29.4 billion, resulting in a trade gap of $5.9 billion for the month, an improvement of 10.5% year-on-year. The manufacturing industry played a significant role in Trkiye's export performance, contributing 94.2% to total exports in the first 10 months. Within this sector, high-tech products constituted 3.4% of the exports. Germany was the leading destination for Trkiye's exports during this period, with exports valued at $17.97 billion. The United States and the United Kingdom followed with $13.38 billion and $12.49 billion, respec tively. On the imports front, China emerged as the main source for Trkiye, with imports totaling $37.4 billion. Russia and Germany were the subsequent major import partners, contributing $35.5 billion and $22.18 billion, respectively.
