Italian Jews Launch Public Appeal Condemning Ethnic Cleansing in Gaza

Rome: Over 200 Italian Jews have signed a public appeal published in La Repubblica daily, voicing strong opposition to what they describe as ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

According to Anadolu Agency, the appeal titled 'Italian Jews say: No to ethnic cleansing! Italy must not be an accomplice,' was made public on Wednesday. It criticizes the intentions of US President Donald Trump, who has been vocal about his desire to expel Palestinians from Gaza. The appeal further highlights ongoing violence in the West Bank, perpetrated by the Israeli government and settlers.

The US president's proposal for the US to "take over" Gaza has been met with international criticism. He envisions redeveloping the war-torn region into a luxurious destination dubbed "the Riviera of the Middle East," by relocating its population. This plan has been widely condemned by the Arab world and various other countries, who argue that it effectively constitutes ethnic cleansing.
