Tokyo: Tsunami waves have struck parts of Japan's Pacific coast after a powerful earthquake off Russia, prompting authorities to continue evacuation advisories. According to Japan's Meteorological Agency, the earthquake triggered a 60-centimeter tsunami at Kuji Port in Iwate and Hamanaka in Hokkaido, while Ishinomaki Port in Miyagi recorded 50-centimeter waves.

According to Anadolu Agency, the agency reported elevated wave activity in the Tohoku and Kanto regions, including a 30-centimeter surge at Yokohama Port. Earlier, smaller waves were observed along Hokkaido's eastern coast, with ports in Nemuro and Kushiro recording 30-centimeter surges. The public has been advised to remain evacuated as a precaution against further wave activity.
