Ankara:Moroccan King Mohammed VI has expressed his solidarity with Saudi Arabia following recent Houthi attacks on Saudi territory.

According to Anadolu Agency, King Mohammed VI emphasized that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia, as well as other Gulf Cooperation Council states, are integral to Morocco's own security. In separate telegrams to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, he stated, "Any attack on Saudi Arabia is an attack on Morocco."

The Moroccan king expressed deep concern over the attacks targeting civilian and economic facilities, critical infrastructure, cities, and residential areas in Saudi Arabia. He condemned the attempts to target the holy city of Mecca, highlighting the gravity of these actions.

The conflict in Yemen, which has persisted since the Houthis took control of Sanaa and several provinces in 2014, led to a Saudi-led coalition's intervention in support of Yemen's internationally recognized government in 2015. Recently, the conflict has extended into Saudi Arabia, with Houthi attacks targeting the kingdom, including its oil infrastructure, following the group's declaration of a maritime blockade in July.
