Kuwait city: Kuwait announced early Sunday that its air defense systems were actively responding to 'hostile' missile and drone threats. The Kuwaiti army explained that the sounds of explosions heard across various parts of the country were the result of interceptions carried out by air defense systems.
According to Anadolu Agency, the situation has escalated tensions in the region, with Bahrain activating public warning sirens and advising its citizens and residents to remain calm and seek shelter in the nearest safe locations. These measures were prompted by reports of several explosions occurring in southern Iran, notably in the areas of Sirik and Qeshm Island.
In a related development, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported executing additional strikes against multiple targets within Iran. The U.S. military confirmed that American forces targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, and drone-related facilities. This action was a direct response to what CENTCOM characterized as ongoing Iranian actions against commercial shipping near the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz.
