Lebanese Soldier Killed in Israeli Strike in Southern Lebanon

Sidon: A Lebanese soldier was killed on Sunday in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon, the army said. A military statement confirmed that Corporal Hussein Ali Nahle lost his life in the attack targeting Kafr Hati, a town near Sidon.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army has broadened its offensive in Lebanon following a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2, despite a ceasefire that was initiated in November 2024. Since early March, Hezbollah has launched numerous rocket attacks into Israel, claiming these actions are in retaliation for ongoing Israeli strikes on Lebanon and the assassination of Iran's then-Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a collaborative US-Israeli airstrike on February 28.

Lebanese authorities report that at least 1,422 individuals have been killed and 4,294 injured due to the Israeli attacks since the conflict reignited.
