Tripoli: Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah announced on Saturday that the investigation into the plane crash in Ankara, which involved a Libyan military delegation, continues in collaboration with Trkiye. The crash, which occurred on December 23, resulted in the deaths of all eight individuals on board, including five members of the Libyan delegation and three crew members.

According to Anadolu Agency, the victims included notable figures such as Libyan Chief of General Staff Gen. Mohammed Ali Al-Haddad, Libyan Land Forces Commander Lt. Gen. Futuri Gribel, and Director of Libyan Military Factories Brig. Gen. Mahmoud Juma El Giteviy. The tragic incident also claimed the lives of adviser to the Libyan Chief of General Staff Mohammed Assavi and photographer Mohammed Omar Ahmed Mahjoub. The Prime Minister emphasized the seriousness with which the investigation is being conducted during a military ceremony at the Libyan Defense Ministry in Tripoli, following the return of the delegation's bodies.

The event was attended by Trkiye's Chief of General Staff Gen. Selcuk Bayraktaroglu and Trkiye's Ambassador to Tripoli Guven Begec. Prime Minister Dbeibah extended condolences to the families of the deceased and expressed appreciation to officials from various countries, particularly Trkiye, for their support during this difficult time.

Mohamed Menfi, head of Libya's Presidency Council, remarked on the unity brought about by the tragedy, stating, "This tragedy has united us, just as we have been united before in moments of great truth." He further noted that the event had silenced dissenting voices and brought the nation together in a spirit of grief, loyalty, and respect.
