Kuala lumpur: Malaysia has announced plans to resume the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which disappeared in 2014 with 239 passengers on board. The search, set to begin later this month, will be conducted by UK-based Ocean Infinity.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Transport Ministry stated that Ocean Infinity will undertake a deep-sea search starting on December 30, lasting for 55 days. The operation will be carried out intermittently, focusing on areas with the highest likelihood of locating the aircraft, as per an agreement signed with the government on March 25, 2025.

Flight MH370 has been missing since March 8, 2014, when it vanished during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, sparking one of the biggest mysteries in aviation history. The renewed search will cover approximately 15,000 square kilometers in the southern Indian Ocean. Ocean Infinity will be compensated $70 million if they successfully find the wreckage.

Earlier this year, Ocean Infinity had begun a search but was forced to halt operations in April due to adverse weather conditions.
