Moscow: The US is reportedly prepared to consider Russia's perspectives in efforts to settle the conflict in Ukraine, according to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov. This development comes shortly after American envoys met with top Russian officials in Moscow.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ushakov conveyed that the mood following the discussions was positive, indicating a willingness on the part of the US to strive for a long-term resolution, aligning with Russian objectives. President Vladimir Putin engaged in talks with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law, focusing on Washington's revised draft peace plan for Ukraine.

Ushakov described the meetings in Moscow as constructive and informative, with the five-hour dialogue extensively covering potential solutions to the conflict that has persisted for over three-and-a-half years. He emphasized that current negotiations regarding the Ukraine war involve only the US and Russia, with both parties agreeing to keep the details confidential.

A key issue discussed was Ukraine's potential NATO membership, with Ushakov stating that Russia had openly shared its views. He noted that recent successes by the Russian army had positively influenced the negotiations, impacting Western assessments of the peace process.

Additionally, Ushakov highlighted recent claims by Valery Gerasimov, chief of the General Staff, regarding Russian control over strategic locations such as the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region and the town of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region. However, these claims were countered by Ukraine's General Staff, which suggested that the assertions aim to sway international negotiations.
