Motegi:Marc Marquez clinched victory in the Japanese MotoGP on Sunday, securing a perfect weekend at the Motegi circuit and significantly reducing Jorge Martin's championship lead to a mere two points.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Ducati rider prevailed in the 24-lap race, finishing ahead of Aprilia's Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi at the Mobility Resort Motegi. Marquez's success followed his win in Saturday's Sprint, where he also outpaced Martin.
Martin began the race from pole position but ultimately succumbed to the pressure from Marquez, who overtook him at Turn 9 on lap 11. Marquez maintained his lead to finish the race in 41 minutes, 31.467 seconds, 1.363 seconds ahead of Martin. Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium, narrowly holding off Enea Bastianini by just 0.078 seconds.
In the subsequent positions, Raul Fernandez claimed fifth, with local favorite Ai Ogura taking sixth and Pedro Acosta finishing seventh. Francesco Bagnaia ended the race in eighth place.
The weekend's results allowed Marquez to cut Martin's championship lead from 12 points down to two. Martin continues to lead the standings with 333 points, followed by Marquez with 331, and Bezzecchi in third with 284 points. The MotoGP season is set to proceed with the Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika next weekend.
