Dubai: US tech billionaire Elon Musk on Thursday discussed cutting government spending by abolishing entire federal agencies and reshaping the Trump administration's priorities during a video call at the World Governments Summit in Dubai. Musk outlined key goals for the unofficial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which he heads, emphasizing the need to reduce the size of the federal government and regulations to restore 'rule of the people.'

According to Anadolu Agency, Musk stated that the main task for DOGE is to make the government more accountable to the people by reducing its size. He believes this approach would result in better outcomes for citizens. Under Trump's new administration, Musk noted a reduced interest in interfering with other countries, suggesting that America should focus on its own affairs rather than pushing for regime change globally.

Musk criticized the current state of the US government, pointing out that the rule is by bureaucracy rather than the people. He urged for the elimination of entire agencies, warning that without addressing the root issues, bureaucratic growth could easily return. He highlighted Trump's efforts to dismantle agencies such as the USAID and the National Endowment for Democracy, questioning their recent achievements in promoting democracy.

Musk also touched on the Trump administration's initiative to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) measures, cautioning that if AI were designed to prioritize DEI, it could potentially lead to undesirable outcomes. He announced the imminent launch of Grok 3, the AI chatbot of his X platform, describing it as eerie technology.

Additionally, Musk criticized Sam Altman's leadership of the US-based OpenAI, likening it to a nonprofit that turns into a commercial entity. He revealed plans for a 'Dubai Loop' transit project with the US-based Boring Company, describing it as a rapid transportation solution across the city.
