Netanyahu Firmly Rejects Expansion of Negotiating Team’s Mandate for Hamas Deal.

Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has refused a request from his negotiating team to broaden its mandate concerning negotiations with Hamas, as local media reported on Tuesday. For several months, frustration has been growing among Israeli negotiators due to the constraints of the limited mandate set by Netanyahu, which has reportedly hindered indirect negotiations with Hamas. According to Anadolu Agency, the Yedioth Ahronoth daily disclosed that Netanyahu met with his negotiating team earlier this week. During this meeting, both Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz dismissed proposals from the team leaders aiming to expand their mandate. This expansion was intended to facilitate negotiations and potentially resolve the issue of Israeli hostages in Gaza. Negotiators have been seeking to widen the parameters to enable more effective talks and ultimately address the ongoing conflict.
