The Department of Meteorology issued on Tuesday afternoon a new yellow weather warning for Wednesday.

''Maximum temperature over the inland areas is expected to rise to around 40 degrees Celsius,'' according to the Meteorology Department.

The warning is valid from 11:00 till 17:00 on Wednesday.
