Skopje: North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova expressed optimism about the growing relations between North Macedonia and Trkiye, emphasizing the friendship and mutual respect shared by the two nations. She made these remarks during an event in Skopje celebrating Turkish Language Education Day and the 20th anniversary of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency's (TIKA) Skopje Program Coordination Office.
According to Anadolu Agency, President Siljanovska-Davkova stated her belief that the relationship between the countries will continue to strengthen, particularly in collaboration with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. She highlighted the Turkish community in North Macedonia as a significant link between the two nations.
Trkiye's ambassador to Skopje, Fatih Ulusoy, also underscored North Macedonia's unique position as a country where various ethnic, religious, and cultural communities live in harmony. He acknowledged the Turkish community's special role as one of the country's ancient and foundational peoples, contributing to the peaceful coexistence and loyalty within the nation.
