Palestinian Families Face Displacement Amid Israeli Blockade

Khirbet Ras al-Ahmar:Forty-seven Palestinian families are at risk of forced displacement from a village in the northern occupied West Bank due to threats from armed Israeli occupiers. Already, four families have fled the village following these threats, according to a Palestinian body.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported that armed occupiers stormed homes in Khirbet Ras al-Ahmar, southeast of Tubas, threatening residents with death, which prompted the departure of the families. The village has been under an Israeli blockade for nearly a month, with access roads closed and restrictions on water and livestock feed supplies, endangering residents' livelihoods.

The situation worsened in mid-September when Israeli forces dug a trench across the village's last remaining access road, compelling residents to gather water at night and travel before dawn to avoid detention. The commission noted that Israeli authorities demolished six water wells, seized pumps, and repeatedly cut water lines serving the village.

On October 10, the Israeli occupiers issued an ultimatum to the 47 families, giving them until the following evening to vacate their homes. The commission warned that ongoing restrictions could lead to further displacements and facilitate the seizure of their land.

The commission cited similar occurrences in other parts of the occupied West Bank, such as in Jalud near Nablus, where a Palestinian family was expelled following months of attacks, and in Wadi al-Rakhim near Hebron, where a family of 10 was confined to their home due to Israeli restrictions. It called for the reopening of access roads, the restoration of essential supplies, and protection for residents against further aggression.

Since October 2023, the commission has documented 14,742 attacks across 376 Palestinian villages and communities in the occupied West Bank, with 67 Palestinians reportedly killed by Israeli occupiers during that period.
