Jenin: A Palestinian man was shot dead and his body trampled by a military vehicle after he stabbed and injured an Israeli soldier during an Israeli army raid on a West Bank town Thursday. The incident unfolded in the town of Rumana, located in the northern part of the West Bank, as reported by the Israeli army on its X account.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli forces conducted a raid in Rumana early Thursday, during which they stormed local homes and caused damage to properties. A resident of the town attacked and injured an Israeli soldier, who was subsequently hospitalized with moderate injuries. In response, the army forces shot and killed the attacker.

The official news agency Wafa reported that the Israeli military deployed sniper teams across the town and initiated a large-scale arrest campaign targeting local citizens. The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed the death of a 55-year-old citizen from Rumana, who was killed by Israeli gunfire on the same day.

Wafa also noted that the body of the deceased, Ahmad al-Amour, was trampled by a military vehicle. The agency mentioned that al-Amour's sons were detained during the raid.

The ongoing conflict in the region has resulted in significant casualties. Since the start of Israel's war on Gaza, at least 993 Palestinians have been killed, and over 7,000 have been injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

In a ruling last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory illegal, urging the evacuation of all Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
