Palestinian Ministry Condemns Israeli Attacks on Olive Harvesters as War Crimes

Tulkarm:The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has condemned Israeli attacks on olive harvesters in the West Bank, labeling the actions as war crimes. These incidents involved blocking farmers from accessing their land and assaulting ambulance crews attempting to reach those injured.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry highlighted an assault on farmers harvesting olives between Burqa and the Ramin Plain, resulting in the death of 44-year-old Ali Hassan Yasser al-Bazari and injuries to more than 20 Palestinians, some with serious gunshot wounds.

The ministry reported that farmers faced gunfire, beatings, and restrictions preventing them from reaching their land. Ambulance crews were attacked, with three paramedics and a volunteer detained, and their ambulance keys confiscated, forcing them to leave the area.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has urged the international community to take responsibility and provide protection for Palestinians, calling on Israel to stop the attacks and hold accountable those responsible for inciting and committing crimes against Palestinians.

The ministry also urged for practical measures to prevent settlement expansion and protect Palestinian farmers, ensuring their access to land and ultimately ending the occupation of Palestinian territories, with East Jerusalem as the capital.

Since the start of the olive harvest in early October, attacks by Israeli occupiers and restrictions on Palestinian farmers have intensified, including beatings, theft of crops, and destruction of trees. Approximately 750,000 Israeli occupiers reside in illegal settlements and outposts in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

The region has seen an escalation in Israeli raids and arrests since October 2023, along with increased attacks by occupiers, movement restrictions, and closures of entrances to Palestinian towns and villages.
