Philippines Issues Fresh Warning of Major Storm.

Manila: The Philippines has issued a new weather warning as another typhoon approaches the country, local media reported Tuesday. This latest storm marks the fifth significant weather event to threaten the archipelago within a span of three weeks, compounding the challenges faced by thousands of displaced residents across different regions. According to Anadolu Agency, Typhoon Toraji, locally referred to as Typhoon Nika, has intensified further as it nears the boundary between Isabela and Aurora provinces. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has been cited by the local media outlet Inquirer Net as confirming this development. With the storm's approach, seven areas in Northern Luzon have been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4. The typhoon is moving west-northwestward at a speed of 15 kilometers (9.32 miles) per hour, with maximum sustained winds reaching 130 kilometers (80.7 miles) per hour, and gusts of up to 180 kilometers (112 miles) per hour. The Philippines has already been grappling with the aftermath of two tropical cyclones that struck the country last month, resulting in the tragic loss of 146 lives and displacing approximately 8.6 million people. As Typhoon Toraji looms, the nation braces itself for further challenges in the ongoing storm season.
