Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday received Turkey's women's national volleyball team that won the European Championship, along with other medal-winning national players, at the presidential complex in Ankara.
According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan congratulated the women's team on securing the 2026 CEV European Championship for a second consecutive title, as well as the Turkish volleyball players who excelled in other international competitions. He emphasized the significance of the investments made in sports, particularly volleyball, and expressed satisfaction with the achievements.
Erdogan also highlighted the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics, for which Turkey has secured qualification. He expressed confidence in the team's potential to clinch the championship there, stating, "We believe, we trust ourselves. God willing, we will succeed."
