Dammam:A projectile fell near King Fahd International Airport in eastern Saudi Arabia late Saturday, as reported by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.
According to Anadolu Agency, coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki shared the news on the US social media platform X, but no further details were provided regarding the incident. There have been no reports of casualties or damage.
This marks the first instance of a projectile reported near an airport in Dammam, the largest city in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, amidst the ongoing conflict involving Yemen's Houthis. Earlier on Saturday, the airport temporarily suspended operations following an attack that left several people injured, as stated by the General Civil Aviation Authority.
The authority mentioned that operations were paused to allow officials to assess the damage and ensure the safety of the facilities.
