Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin engaged in a 50-minute phone conversation with US President Donald Trump, focusing on the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The discussion was confirmed by Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov.
According to Anadolu Agency, Ushakov highlighted that Putin condemned Israel's military actions against Iran and voiced concerns about the potential regional impacts. Putin also reiterated Russia's willingness to mediate between Israel and Iran and expressed readiness to assist in resuming discussions on Iran's nuclear program.
The conversation comes in the wake of the sixth round of indirect nuclear negotiations between the US and Iran being called off, as reported by Oman's foreign minister. Ushakov mentioned that both leaders acknowledged their 'positive personal relations,' which could pave the way for more direct communication in the future.
