Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Monday that Russia will evaluate proposals concerning a potential moratorium between Moscow and Kyiv on strikes targeting civilian infrastructure in each other's territories. "As for the proposal not to hit civilian infrastructure facilities, this needs to be sorted out," Putin stated to reporters in Moscow.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had suggested on Sunday a cessation of strikes on civilian infrastructure for a minimum of 30 days, with the potential for extension. Zelenskyy emphasized that if Russia rejected this initiative, it would demonstrate its intent to continue actions that endanger human lives and extend the conflict.

Putin remarked on the previous Easter truce, stating that the Armed Forces of Ukraine violated the ceasefire approximately 4,900 times, although he acknowledged a decrease in overall military activity. He contended that Ukraine attempted to take the initiative during the ceasefire and accused Western nations of advising Kyiv against accepting the proposal.

The Easter ceasefire, which began at 6 p.m. Moscow time on Saturday, expired at midnight on Monday without an extension. Both nations have accused each other of violating the truce during this period.

Addressing broader peace efforts, Putin reiterated Russia's positive stance on peace initiatives, expressing hope that Ukraine would reciprocate. He also criticized the alleged use of civilian infrastructure by the Ukrainian military for military operations.
