Doha: Qatar's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has announced the operation of an early radiation monitoring and warning system that extensively covers air, land, and sea. The system is designed to ensure that radiation levels are continuously monitored and any potential threats are addressed promptly.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry stated that current radiation readings across Qatar indicate levels are within normal and safe limits. This development comes at a time of heightened regional tensions following a joint offensive by US and Israeli forces on Iran on February 28. The offensive resulted in over 1,340 casualties, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In response to the offensive, Tehran has launched a series of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states that host US military assets. These retaliatory actions have escalated tensions in the region, prompting measures like Qatar's monitoring system to ensure public safety and preparedness in the face of potential threats.
