Doha: Qatar announced on Saturday that its defense forces successfully intercepted nine out of ten Iranian attack drones that targeted the country. The remaining drone landed in an uninhabited area, causing no casualties or damage.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Qatari Defense Ministry released a statement indicating that since dawn, a total of ten drones originating from Iran had targeted the nation. The statement highlighted the successful neutralization of nine drones, with the tenth drone landing harmlessly, emphasizing the lack of any resulting injuries or destruction.

The Defense Ministry reassured the public of Qatar's defense capabilities, stating that the country possesses the necessary resources to safeguard its sovereignty and territory. It urged citizens and visitors to stay calm and adhere to official guidance amidst these developments.

This event is part of a broader pattern of attacks from Iran, which, since February 28, has launched missiles and drones targeting Israel and Gulf countries, including those hosting US military assets. These aggressive actions have resulted in casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure, such as ports and residential buildings. Tehran has justified its actions as retaliation for a US-Israeli military campaign that reportedly resulted in the death of several hundred individuals, including Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior military figures.
