Qatar Mediates Return Agreement for Displaced Gazans

Doha: Qatar announced that Israel will permit the return of displaced Palestinians from southern Gaza to its northern regions starting Monday morning. This development marks a significant step in addressing the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

According to Anadolu Agency, Majid Al-Ansari, the spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, stated on Sunday that an agreement has been brokered between Israel and Hamas. As part of the agreement, Hamas will release the Israeli hostage Arbel Yehud along with two other hostages by Friday, followed by the release of three additional hostages on Saturday.

Furthermore, Al-Ansari mentioned that Israel will provide a list of 400 Palestinians arrested since October 7, 2023, every Sunday during the initial phase of the agreement. This initiative is part of ongoing mediation efforts aimed at easing tensions and fostering dialogue between the involved parties.
