Moscow: Russia's deputy premier expressed the country's desire for the United States to promptly issue an agreement on the appointment of its new ambassador. Sergey Ryabkov emphasized the importance of having ambassadors lead foreign missions to facilitate effective dialogue between nations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ryabkov highlighted that the absence of a Russian ambassador in Washington, due to the American side's delay in issuing an agreement, is considered undesirable. He called on US counterparts to address the matter urgently, emphasizing that while the current waiting period is not unusual, resolving the issue promptly is crucial.

On October 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin removed Anatoly Antonov from his position as ambassador to the US, though a replacement has not yet been named. Antonov had served in the role since 2017, and his departure occurs amidst strained relations between the two countries.
