Doha: Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani received Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani in Doha to discuss bilateral ties and the latest developments in Syria, according to Qatar's Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Al-Shaibani, who is visiting Qatar, engaged in discussions with Al Thani on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. The talks also covered a number of issues of mutual interest, highlighting the commitment of both nations to enhance their diplomatic relationship.

During the meeting, Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar's unwavering support for Syria's unity, sovereignty, and independence. He emphasized Doha's support for the aspirations of the Syrian people to establish a state founded on institutions and the rule of law, as stated by the ministry.

The Qatari premier further expressed Qatar's commitment to aiding efforts toward reconstruction, recovery, and stability in Syria, underscoring the importance of these efforts in the region's future development.
