Moscow: The Russian and Belarusian foreign ministers have engaged in discussions regarding foreign policy coordination, as announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday. Sergey Lavrov and Maxim Ryzhenkov held a phone conversation where Lavrov informed his Belarusian counterpart about the outcomes of US-mediated ceasefire negotiations that took place in Saudi Arabia the previous day.

According to Anadolu Agency, Lavrov, in an interview with Channel One, mentioned that the discussions were primarily centered on ensuring safe navigation in the Black Sea. The ministers also deliberated on bilateral integration efforts, emphasizing collaboration in the United Nations and other multilateral forums.

The conversation further covered the scheduling of forthcoming high-level meetings between Russia and Belarus. The nations have maintained robust political, military, and economic relations, which have intensified following the onset of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022.

In addition, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko recently signed several agreements, one of which focuses on the 'mutual protection of citizens from unjustified prosecution by foreign states and international justice bodies,' as reported by the Kremlin.
