Moscow: Russia and Ukraine have successfully executed another prisoner swap, marking the fourth exchange within a week. This operation saw captured military personnel returned to their respective homelands, as reported by the Russian Defense Ministry and confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its servicemen were brought back from Ukrainian territory as part of the exchange agreement. In return, Ukraine received its captured Armed Forces personnel.

President Zelenskyy confirmed the exchange on Telegram, stating, "We continue to take our people from Russian captivity. This is the fourth exchange in a week." He highlighted that the returnees included soldiers from various Ukrainian security and defense sectors, such as the armed forces, the National Guard, the State Border Service, and the State Special Transport Service. Many of these individuals had been detained since 2022.

Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine's commitment to freeing all captives, asserting, "We must release everyone and we are working precisely for this, so as not to leave anyone to the enemy. Thank you to everyone who helps."

Throughout the ongoing conflict, Ukraine has frequently engaged in prisoner swaps with Russia. Some of these exchanges have been mediated by nations like the UAE, Trkiye, and Qatar.
