Moscow: Russia on Saturday claimed its forces have captured another settlement in Ukraine. The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Telegram that the village of Shevchenka in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region is now under Moscow’s control. The village is strategically located about 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) from the Ukrainian-Russian border.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ukraine has not yet commented on the Russian claim. The ongoing conflict makes independent verification of such claims challenging. The capture of Shevchenka, if confirmed, marks another development in the ongoing hostilities between the two nations.
