Russia: Russia on Sunday claimed that its forces had captured another settlement in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region as part of its ongoing offensive. The Russian Defense Ministry stated that its troops took control of the village of Novoukrainka, which is situated approximately 21 kilometers (13 miles) north of the strategic town of Velyka Novosilka.

According to Anadolu Agency, Russia previously claimed to have seized Velyka Novosilka on January 27. The town is strategically located near the junction of Ukraine's Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, making it a significant point of interest in the ongoing conflict.

Novoukrainka is positioned less than a kilometer (0.6 miles) from the administrative border between the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The latest claims by Russia have not been commented on by Ukrainian authorities and could not be independently verified due to the persistent conflict, which is now in its fourth year.
