Moscow:Russia has expanded its entry ban list to include seven British defense industry executives, citing London's military support for Ukraine. This move was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, the Russian Foreign Ministry has labeled the action as a response to Britain's "hostile anti-Russian policy" and its ongoing military assistance to Kyiv. The ministry claims that the targeted individuals are linked to British companies allegedly supplying Ukraine with weapons and military technologies, including equipment used for attacks deep within Russian territory.
The executives named include Alex Edward, CEO of Rotron Aerospace; Kev Oliver, the company's chief military adviser; and George Zambellas, its chairman. Other individuals added to the list are Neil Appleton, executive director of Malloy Aeronautics; Robert Michael Gascoyne, CEO of MGI Engineering; Paul Webb, director and co-founder of Tekever UK; and Julian Frederick Charles Cracknell, chief technology and information officer at BAE Systems.
The Russian government has accused London of supplying Ukraine with missile and drone systems designed to cause "maximum damage" to Russia. Additionally, the ministry criticized the British government's defense spending, suggesting that these resources could be redirected to support the civilian sector amid domestic economic and social issues. The Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that it will continue to expand its entry ban list in reaction to what it perceives as hostile actions by the British government.
