Brussels: An overnight Ukrainian drone attack in Russia resulted in the deaths of eight people and injuries to dozens, Russian authorities stated Saturday.

According to Anadolu Agency, in the city of Kotovsk, drones targeted a warehouse belonging to an online retailer, leading to the deaths of seven individuals and injuring 25 more, as reported by Tambov region Governor Evgeny Pervyshov on Telegram. The subsequent fire at the warehouse was extinguished, although emergency crews are still present at the scene.

In the Moscow region, a drone strike on an online retailer warehouse in the city of Elektrostal resulted in one fatality and 37 injuries, with two additional injuries reported in Noginsk city, according to regional Governor Andrey Vorobiev. On the Russian social media platform Max, Vorobiev noted that the drone incident also caused a fire at an oil depot in Noginsk, with emergency responses ongoing.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported that over 370 Ukrainian drones had approached the Moscow region since Friday evening, with the majority being intercepted before reaching the capital. Russia's Defense Ministry confirmed on Telegram that air defenses intercepted 379 Ukrainian drones across the country, including over the annexed Crimea and the Azov and Black seas.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces targeted "two major logistics facilities" in Russia's Moscow and Tambov regions, which were used to supply components for drone production and navigation equipment. He mentioned on the US social media platform X that Ukrainian forces also struck an oil facility, without specifying its location. Zelenskyy added that Ukrainian mid-range strikes were conducted in the Sea of Azov, the Black Sea, and occupied Crimea.

In a separate incident in Ukraine, the General Staff reported that air defenses intercepted one guided missile and 69 drones over the northern, southern, and eastern regions. Ukraine's Navy reported that one person was killed in a Russian strike on port infrastructure in Odesa, which damaged the dry cargo ship VENTURO, but 17 civilian sailors from the Philippines were safely evacuated. Five people were injured in Ukraine's Kherson region after a Russian strike hit a civilian vehicle, as per the regional military administration on Telegram.
