Brussels: Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has publicly accused the United States of repeatedly breaching a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the presidents of the two countries. In a statement made on the social media platform X, Khamenei criticized US President Donald Trump's commitment to the agreement, describing his signature as "utterly worthless."

According to Anadolu Agency, Khamenei expressed his discontent, stating that the US's actions have exposed "a fundamental truth" about the credibility of the US President's commitments. He further condemned the US, referring to the nation as the "Great Satan" and attributing "coercion, totalitarianism, and brutality" to its doctrine.

Khamenei cautioned against the escalation of conflict by the US, warning of "unforgettable lessons" that the Iranian people and the "Resistance Front" are prepared to teach. He emphasized the importance of unity among Iranians, urging for the protection of Iran's dignity and independence against what he described as a "criminal and cunning" US.

Highlighting recent events, Khamenei praised the valor of Islamic fighters and the courage of the people in the southern regions, describing them as examples of the nation's resolve against the US. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian echoed these sentiments, advocating for national unity and the avoidance of division during this critical period.

Further complicating matters, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced that Tehran has suspended its commitments to the MoU, citing US violations. This development comes amidst heightened tensions in the Middle East, where exchanges of attacks between the US and Iran continue to stir unrest.

The military escalation persists despite a Pakistan-brokered MoU signed in June, intended to end hostilities and establish a lasting peace agreement.
