BAKU: The Saudi minister of state for foreign affairs emphasized the robust and profound relationship between Saudi Arabia and Trkiye, characterizing it as "broad" and "very deep." Adel al-Jubeir made these remarks on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference COP29 in Baku. According to Anadolu Agency, al-Jubeir highlighted the ambitions to further enhance cooperation across various sectors, including economy, energy, politics, and military collaboration. He expressed the intent to advance cooperation between the two nations in diverse areas, emphasizing the importance of their alliance. The minister also pointed out that Saudi Arabia and Trkiye engage in close consultations on regional and global issues, such as climate change, ocean preservation, and desertification, showcasing their shared commitment to tackling common challenges. Trade between the two countries has seen significant growth, with a 50% increase in the last two years, reaching $6.8 billion in 2023. The cooperation spans technology , defense industry, renewable energy, petrochemistry, finance, and tourism. Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz had previously mentioned that both nations aim to increase bilateral trade volume to $10 billion in the short term and to over $30 billion in the medium term.
